Important update: end of CSP grace period and automatic move to Extended Support Terms (EST)

Microsoft has officially announced the end of the grace period for CSP subscriptions. According to updated rules in Microsoft Partner Center and CSP documentation, starting from 4 May 2026, any CSP subscription without a partner decision (renew or cancel) will be automatically moved to Extended Support Terms (EST).

What this means for partners

• Subscriptions moved to EST will have a price increase. According to Microsoft, the increase starts from 3% and can go up to 23% in some cases.
• The move to EST happens automatically, without extra notifications from Microsoft.
• The higher cost is billed to the end customer. This can create risks for partner margins and customer relationships.

Our recommendations

• Check all active CSP subscriptions that are close to expiration.
• Make sure you renew or cancel subscriptions on time to avoid automatic move to EST.
