Update of the offer in the OEM channel: Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard / Datacenter access licenses

We would like to inform you about the update of the offer in the OEM channel for Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard / Datacenter access licenses for users (User CAL) and devices (Device CAL).

These access licenses are mandatory for use when licensing the server software. They enable users to connect to services provided by Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard / Datacenter server software.

User system administrators can choose device or user licensing model based on the acceptable usage model.

There are packs for 1 and 5 access licenses, which allows you to choose any required number of server access licenses.

Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard / Datacenter User CALs and Device CALs can also be used to license access to previous versions of Microsoft Windows Server Standard / Datacenter server software that are currently technically supported by Microsoft. The list of products is as follows.

It is worth remembering that CALs are different from licenses for server software. A server client access license (CAL) is a license that gives users and devices the right to legally access a server on which Microsoft server software is installed.

For convenience, two language versions of the documentation are available – English and Russian. Despite the fact that the documentation is available only in English and Russian, this does not prevent the use of Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard / Datacenter licenses in any available language version of the software. Users can use these licenses regardless of the language of the interface or documentation.

The set includes: Envelope-packaging with license agreement and certificate of authenticity (COA).

OEM access licenses for Microsoft Windows Server 2022 for users (User CAL) and devices (Device CAL) have their advantages:

1. CALs are cost effective and scalable

Customers pay only for the licenses they need. They can adapt their licensing needs by purchasing CALs as their business grows. CALs are only required for users or devices that have direct access to the server.

2. Simplified management

With the help of user licenses, it is possible to control the access of specific persons to the server, regardless of which devices they use. This is especially useful in situations where users are using multiple devices.

The choice between user and device licenses allows you to choose the best option for any business, depending on how you plan to use the server and what needs you need to cover.

4. Simplified licensing

OEM licenses are anonymous and do not require additional customer registrations on Microsoft client portals, which helps to flexibly manage licensing and maintain compliance with Microsoft license terms.

Important!

• Connecting users or devices without a client access license is a direct violation of the license agreement.
• Keeping client access licenses (CALs) updated in a timely manner will help prevent unauthorized access to Windows Server caused by mismatched licenses.
• Accessing the latest version of Windows Server with an old version of the client license is a licensing violation.
