The January version of NetBackup 9, like the previous one, has a lot of new features for comprehensive data protection at the data center, peripheral and cloud levels. NetBackup 9 greatly enhances data protection management capabilities by providing critical business data recovery at any scale, as well as the freedom and flexibility in how you deploy your data protection infrastructure.

What’s new in NetBackup 9?

• Long term retention (LTR)—Extended retention period and efficient multi-level storage of Direct to-Azure LTR archive, including support for Azure archive.
• New architecture deployment—The ability to deploy NetBackup in an automated hyperconvergent horizontally scalable NetBackup Flex Scale form factor.
• Reliable OpenStack protection— Provides cloud-native, API-driven, dynamic and automated protection with fast, detailed recovery from peripherals to the kernel in the cloud.
• Public cloud optimization— Seamless transfer of workloads and data to the cloud, including transfers from Azure Stack to Azure Stack and between Azure regions, with disaster recovery orchestration based on Veritas Resiliency Platform integration.
• Cost-effective NAS protection—The ability to start a backup or restore at a specific point to protect NAS using Dynamic Data Protection (DNAS), which reduces the time spent on these processes.
